This Privacy policy applies to all information collected by Prudential in relation to products and services offered or received by Prudential.

DEFINITIONS

We/Us means Prudential Life Assurance Zambia Limited and its affiliates.

Prudential Group means any affiliates of Prudential Life Assurance Zambia (including, Prudential Plc, Prudential Africa Holdings Limited and Prudential Corporation Asia).

Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, to perform services related to the Service or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used. It includes accountants, auditors, IT service and platform providers, intermediaries, reinsurers, investment managers, agents, selected third party financial and insurance product providers and our professional advisers.

Third-party Social Media Service refers to any website or any social network website through which a User may log in or create an account to use the site/service.

Personal Data is any information which relates to an individual who can be directly or indirectly identified from that information. It includes names, identification numbers, location data and online identifiers.

Whereas PLAZ informs, helps and engages with our customers through designated channels, pages and accounts primarily to improve our services to you, we do not give investment, tax or other professional advice on our social media sites neither will PLAZ ask you to share personal, account or security information on social media sites.

PLAZ is only responsible for information posted by our designated officials. We regularly update and monitor our social media accounts and welcome feedback from you through these channels.

PLAZ also acknowledges that social media sites are not suitable forums to discuss products or financial arrangements specifically as your personal information may be processed by the site owner which is not within our control and may be in a region with different privacy principles.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our site/service and store certain information.

As we, the Prudential Group, and some of our Business Partners are global companies, we might need to send your personal information overseas. Any transfer of personal data overseas will be in accordance with applicable local law requirements.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.

The Company will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

When you share personal information or otherwise interact with public areas of the application, such personal information may be viewed by all users and may be publicly distributed outside the application.


MANAGEMENT OF USAGE DATA

The Company may use Usage Data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our application service including to monitor its usage.
  • To manage your registration as a user of the Service. The Personal Data you provide can give you access to different functionalities of the Service that are available to you as a registered user.

We may share your personal information with Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service, to show advertisements to you to help support and maintain our Service, to contact you, to advertise on third party websites to you after you visited our Service or for payment processing.


RETENTION OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations as per the Data Protection Act, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and internal policies. All your information will be kept in line with our data retention policy.

We will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of Our Service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible, we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.


DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

At PLAZ, we are aware of your rights under the applicable privacy and data protection laws and that you are entitled to the following rights as a data subject:

  • Right of access
    You have the right to confirm with us whether your personal data is processed, and if it is, to request access to that personal data including the categories of personal data processed, the purpose of the processing and the recipients or categories of recipients. We do have to take into account the interests of others though, so this is not an absolute right, and if you want to request more than one copy, we may charge a fee.
  • Right to rectification
    You may have the right to rectify inaccurate or incomplete personal data concerning you.
  • Right to erasure (right to be forgotten)
    You may have the right to ask us to erase personal data concerning you where it is inaccurate. However, PLAZ reserves the right to continue processing or retain your data on valid legal, regulatory, and operational grounds.
  • Right to restriction of processing
    In limited circumstances, you may have the right to request that we restrict processing of your personal data, however where we process Employee Data and Sensitive Employee Data for the Processing Purposes, we think that we have a legitimate interest in processing that day which may override a request that you make.
  • Right to data portability
    You may have the right to receive personal data concerning you, which you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and you may have the right to transmit that data to another entity.
  • Right to object and rights relating to automated decision-making
    Under certain circumstances you may have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to the processing of your personal data, including profiling, by us and we can be required to no longer process your personal data. This may include requesting human intervention in relation to an automated decision so that you can express your view and to contest the decision.
  • Right to prevent processing of personal data for direct marketing
    Please note a one-time password will be shared with you once at point of signup for our client portal/App if you choose to have access to your policy details. We advise that you always protect your information.

SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We have undertaken to protect your personal information against unauthorized access or processing, of the personal data. We have implemented appropriate policies and procedures to protect all your personal information held by us.

The security of your Personal Data is important to us but no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we use commercially acceptable means to protect and secure your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Please note to access our sites within a secure environment.


CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children (any person under 18 years of age).
