Prudential Donates COVID 19 Materials to Community School to Commemorate Nelson Mandela Day

July 18, 2020

Prudential Life Assurance Zambia has donated face masks, hand sanitisers, soaps and informative posters to Jesus Army Academy, a community school in Mtendere, towards COVID-19 prevention. Staff from Prudential spent 67 minutes of their time to commemorate the UN recognised Nelson Mandela International Day, also known as Mandela Day, which is held on July 18 each year.

Prudential Head of Human Resources and Administration, Raymond Ngoma, was at the event. As we battle with the Coronavirus in our communities, we hope that the face masks, hand sanitizers, soap, and posters will help the children understand how to protect themselves and their families from Covid-19, he said.

Nelson Mandela day remembers the prolific leader’s achievements in working towards conflict resolution, democracy, human rights, peace, and reconciliation. It is also a global call to action for people to recognize their ability to have a positive effect on others around them. The day looks to inspire people to embrace the values that Mandela shared.

We hope that we have inspired our colleagues in the corporate space to give back to their community as best they can.
