USD100,000 Given Towards Financial Literacy Programme, Cha-Ching

September 18, 2019

Prudential Life Assurance, through the Prudence Foundation has partnered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and Junior Achievement Zambia and injected USD 100,000 to roll out the Cha-Ching Financial Literacy Program in schools.

The objective of Cha-Ching is to instill children with knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable them to make informed financial decisions.

Education is one of our corporate social responsibility pillars so, as a result, we have been backing Cha-Ching through our Chairman’s Challenge since 2016. To date, we have seen over 1500 students go through the program successfully and the program was awarded the Exceptional Financial Literacy Outreach Program by the Bank of Zambia in 2018 as part of the financial literacy awards.

Through this new partnership, we plan on training a further 5000 students during the pilot phase of the program and continuing to roll out the initiative in other provinces in Zambia.

We are hopeful that through the robust content of the program, and the new partnership we have formed today, we will be raising a generation of well-informed young people who are able to make better financial decisions.
