Prudential Zambia donates to Cancer Diseases Paediatric WingMarch 13, 2017
As part of this year’s International Women’s Day commemoration, themed “Be Bold for Change”, Prudential Zambia women celebrated the day by donating essential items to the Cancer Diseases Hospital – Paediatric Wing.
The Cancer Diseases Hospital provides care to children that come from all over Zambia. Many of the children must stay in hospital for long periods of time because of their treatment and often require essential items such as toiletries for themselves and their accompanying care-givers. The children in the ward can sometimes be malnourished and less able to cope with their chemotherapy treatment. Prudential Zambia women chose to celebrate International Women’s Day by committing to provide 500 packets of milk to the Paediatric Wing every month for four months as well as donating other essential items to make the children’s stay in hospital more comfortable.
Prudential Zambia women were met by Dr. Sambo, the Head of the Paediatric Wing, who expressed her gratitude on behalf of Hospital Management for the donation. Dr. Sambo thanked Prudential, saying that the donations would go a long way to assisting patients, parents and other caregivers. She also appealed to other organisations to emulate Prudential’s example.
